UPDATE Tweaked (From Tommelchen)

- Base health points were increased by about 8X and the cost of healing was reduced 10X (it costs one gold to heal 10 HP).

- The weapon stats in the lower levels were changed to give the 1H players a fair chance against 2H players. All weapons stats were increased substantially in the higher levels but the increase was made in such a way that the 1H/2H relationship is well balanced for all levels, no matter whether you are a defensive or offensive 1H or 2H player! The balancing has been tested up to level 75 and it works! Smile

- The stats for shields were reduced and also for armour in some cases. Some players may see this as a disadvantage or as a "rip-off" because they "paid for more stats" BUT these items were the source of the very uneven balancing in higher levels. 1H players who think that the chnages are working against them and for 2H players need to consieder that 2H players now have the same chances as 1H players in ALL levels. No one fighting class should have a huge advantage at ANY level due to the changes made.

- Players who place more than ~ 66% of their skill points in defense receive a penalty on their bonus for dexterity. This penalty increases proportionally to the number of points placed in defense; the more you build as a "turtle", the less each point of dexterity will yield. players may notice a tiny decrease in their dexterity bonus even if they have less than 66% of their skill points in defense BUT the decrease is very small (about 0.5% of the total dexterity bonus).

- Critical hits have been introduced; if you successfully make a critical hit, you cause ~50% more damage than normal. The chance for critical hits is coupled to your fighting ability/parry skills, if you have MUCH lower stats than your opponent, you have NO chance to make a critical hit. If the skills are equal, the chance to make a critical hit is equal and it is a flip of the coin who makes more critical hits!

- The number of critical hits possible is limited by your stamina and your parry/fighting ability stats BUT no one will ever make more than 6 critical hits in a fight no matter how high these skills are trained. If your stamina and parry/fighting ability are all significantly higher than those of your opponent, you CAN (but may not!) make more critical hits than the enemy.

- The overall amount of randomness was reduced by using a new formula to determine the chance to hit your opponent; the chance to hit your opponent is now more strongly coupled to your fighting skills/parry. Once a certain point has been reached (that is, if your skills are horrible Razz ), you have NO chance to even hit your opponent!

- stamina no longer gives you one round per 2 points! At first you get about 1 round per 2 points but later you only get 1 round for each 3-4 points. However, all players will be able to fight for at least 3 rounds no matter how high the stamina is. That means that the more you train stamina the less each new point will increase your rounds! This is intended to prevent players from skilling stamina and neglecting other stats to win. However, stamina is still more important than ever because the higher base health points result in fights that go for many rounds! If you neglect your stamina you will often lose to players who are otherwise equal!

Additionally, the long-awaited bazaar update is now complete and will be added along with the balancing update. The bazaar contains following areas:

Seller's stand

At the weapon stand you will find a selection of 5-7 items available for purchase. You may be offered lightning stones or special weapons that are not available anywhere else in the game and/or you may be offered normal items that can be purchased in the shop but at a different price. Whether you make a purchase or not, all the prices and items shown will be available for 24 hours from the time you were offered them. If you see an item you want, don't wait too long. Smile However, since you are in the bazaar, you should compare the prices with those in the shop, you may pay more than you think! On the other hand you can also find some good bargains if you shop carefully! Wink

Buyer's stand

You can offer the buyer any item in your inventory. The buyer will make you an offer for the item; the offer may be more or less than the item is normally worth in the shop, so compare prices carefully! If you accept the offer you can offer the buyer another item right away. If you do not take his offer, you must wait 6 hours before you can can attempt to sell another item in the bazaar.

Game of chance

In the bazaar you can also play the infamous shell game for a wager of 10-100 gold. The chances of winning the doubled amount you bet are 33.333%, so play at your own risk! Are you feeling lucky today!??

Balancing update

After weeks of planning, developing and testing the "new and improved"
KF system that is intended to make the game fairer for all levels and
classes (1H and 2H), we have finally reached the point where I can say
that it's "finished". The update will be added in 1-2 weeks,
international servers may take a bit longer depending on how fast the necessary
translations are completed.

Almost all the objections from the players that resulted from testing
have been considered and solutions have been added where they were
believed to be necessary.

Here is a summary of the changes that have been made in the "final"
version.

- Base health points were increased by about 8X and the cost of healing
was reduced 10X (it costs one gold to heal 10 HP).

- The weapon stats in the lower levels were changed to give the 1H
players a fair chance against 2H players. All weapons stats were increased
in the higher levels but the increase was made in such a way that the
1H/2h are well balanced up to at least level 65!

- ALL Players received an increase in the bonus for strength to
increase overall damage.

- Players who place more than ~ 50% of their skill points in defense
receive a penalty on their bonus for dexterity. This penalty increases
proportionally to the number of points placed in defense; the more you
build as a "turtle", the less each point of dexterity will yield.

- Critical hits have been introduced; if you successfully make a
critical hit, you cause ~50% more damage than normal. The chance for critical
hits is coupled to your fighting ability/parry skills, if you have MUCH
lower stats than your opponent, you have NO chance to make a critical
hit. If the skills are equal, the chance is 50% and it is a flip of the
coin who makes more critical hits!

- The overall amount of randomness was reduced by using a new formula
to decide the chances to hit your opponent; the chance to hit your
opponent is more strongly coupled to your fighting skills/parry. Once a
certain point has been reached (that is, if your skills are horrible Razz
), you have NO chance to even hit your opponent.

- stamina no longer gives you one round per 2 points! At first you get
about 1 round per 2 points but later you only get 1 round for each 3-4
points. That means that the more you train stamina the less each new
point will increase your rounds! This is intended to prevent players from
skilling stamina and neglecting other stats to win. However, stamina is
still more important than ever because the higher base health points
result in fights that go for many rounds! If you neglect your stamina you
will often lose to players who are otherwise equal!

New KnightFight update
Seth on 20.04.2007 um 20:04 (UTC)
 Author, Tommelchen RMS Productmanager.

Hello warriors!

We have added a few improvements today:

Summary:
- 50 jewels credited when a recruited knight reaches level 10
- Counter in the title bar of the browser for mission and battle countdowns
- Internal improvements and rearrangement of the game code
- "Mark all messages read" link for messages
- Multiple attack bug fix
- Tavern mission warning message

50 Jewels credit:

Up until now you receive a 250 gold credit when your recruited knights reach level 3. From now on you will receive 50 jewels for each recruit that reaches level 10! The bonus does not apply to recruits that had already reached level 10 before the update was added!

There is a new page called "friends" where you can send invitations to the game, see how many knights you have recruited so far and you can also find banners for KnightFight that can be placed on your website or used as a signature.

Now non-Premium players have a chance to enjoy some of the Premium features at no cost!

We want to expressly state that any and all accounts involved in rule violations to get the jewel bonus will be permanently deleted with no warning! We have added a security measure to keep track of the recruiting so there will be no excuses accepted and no exceptions made. The accounts will NOT be restored because a clear violation of the rules is involved.

Counter:

When you see a countdown in-game, the countdown is also shown in the browser tab and in the title bar of the browser so you can keep track of multiple servers.

Message system:

There is now a "mark all messages read" link for defense reports. The link is shown when you have new defense reports in your message box.

Multiple attacks:

We have added a change that should prevent or at least drastically reduce the number of multiple attacks. This affects only multiple attacks withins seconds, not normal repeated attacks after 12 hours. Wink

Tavern missions:

The error message that appears when your desired mission has already been taken is now shown in red. This should make it clear that you need to select another mission and your knight is NOT on a mission until you do so. A small time windowe was removed that sometimes led to the need to click on the tavern link twice in order to receive the reward for the mission.

We hope you continue to enjoy KnightFight!
